American Augers DD-880

American Augers has expanded its HDD product line to include the DD-880, which it says is a perfect solution when a large maxi-rig style horizontal directional drill is required to perform large-diameter, or long-reach pipeline and utility-installation projects. The tri-axle mounted DD-880 provides 880,000 lbs. of maximum thrust/pullback capabilities and 100,000 ft.-lbs. of maximum rotary torque. The standard unit is equipped with a rack-and-pinion six-pinion carriage design and a four-pinion and gear rotary drive system. It is powered by a 700-hp Caterpillar C-18 Tier III diesel engine and is engineered with a triple jaw wrench that provides 12 inches of clamp separation. www.americanaugers.com.
