EagleBurgmann Strengthens Position In Saudi Arabia

January 2010 Vol. 237 No. 1

To meet the rising demand from the oil and gas, petrochemical and other industries, EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia Ltd. has expanded its production capacity in the region.

Sales, production and a service center have been set up in Al-Khobar, 30 km from the most important air and seaport in the eastern province.

"The opening of this center confirms our long-term growth strategy for this region and our confidence in the strength and future of the Saudi economy," said Christoph Mosmann, CEO EagleBurgmann. EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia is a joint venture between EagleBurgmann (85%) and Gas Arabian Services (15%). The two partners have worked together since 1997. Sales growth in the last four years ranged from 20-40% as market share grew from 8-15%.

The company aims to increase its share of the mechanical seal market to 30% by 2015. It plans to double the workforce to 30. The long-term goal is to open other service centers in Saudi Arabia to ensure even greater proximity to the customer and to cover all existing market segments.
