The FERC has authorized construction of the Jordan Cove terminal for LNG imports and a related pipeline project in Oregon.
The project calls for a terminal to provide up to 1 Bcf/d of gas to customers in the Pacific Northwest through existing pipelines. The project includes construction of a 234-mile pipeline to move gas from the terminal to a point near Malin, OR on the border with California.
The LNG terminal has been under development by Fort Chicago Energy Partners LP and Energy Projects Development LLC. The related pipeline, Pacific Connector, is being developed by units of Williams, PG&E Corp. and Fort Chicago.
In a related matter, the commission reaffirmed its January order authorizing the Sparrows Point LNG import terminal in Baltimore County, MD under development by AES Corp.
