Interpipe recently commissioned a pipe coating line with a capacity of 250,000 tons/yr, at the Interpipe NTRP mill in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Equipment for the pipe coating line was supplied by Venjakob, Germany. The new coating will protect pipes from corrosion and will be applied to different types of pipes with diameters ranging from 73 – 178 mm. The protective ultra-violet coating placed on the pipes has a quick drying capability of 0.5-2 seconds. The paint setting also has an air purification system that keeps the workshop atmosphere unpolluted, does not contain varnish and is entirely safe for workers.

Duncan Pell, commercial director of Interpipe said, “The new protective coating will help to preserve the quality of pipes during both their long-term storage and transportation. This protection during transportation is particularly crucial for the supply of goods to long-distance markets such NAFTA and the Middle East.”
