Global Pipe Company, a Saudi-German joint venture with a total investment of SR. 660 Million has planned commissioning of a production facility in Jubail Industrial City by the second quarter 2012.

GPC said it is aiming at the oil and gas sector as well as offshore and structural applications. GPC manufactures Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded Steel Pipes (LSAW) in Saudi Arabia, with diameters ranging from 16-62 inches and heavy wall thickness of 8-51mm, for transporting and processing oil and gas. GPC manufactures extremely large size pipes with outside diameters of 40-200 inches and thickness up to 130 mm for the offshore industries.

The majority of LSAW steel pipe in Saudi Arabia is imported. GPC, with a capacity of 200,000 MT annual productions will contribute a major part of the local demand and for the export market, GPC said.
