Obituary: Daniel Etter

Obituary  

Longtime Berg Pipe employee Daniel Wendell (Dan) Etter died Jan. 25, in Panama City, Florida.  

Dan, and his wife Debi, both began working at Berg Pipe in 1980 at the Panama City facility before relocating to Mobile in 2012.  He spent more 40 years at Berg Pipe, starting as a repair welder and progressing through management before retiring as a general manager of Welding at Berg Spiral. Debi retired from Berg in 2018 while Dan retired in 2021.   

Born on Jan. 29, 1959, in Phoenix, Arizona to A.J. and Arlene Etter, Dan grew up in Phoenix, where he loved rodeo and anything outdoors.  After graduation, he joined the United States Navy and was part of the SEAL Underwater Diving Team. His last assignment brought him to Panama City where he met his best friends and future wife “Deb.”    

Dan loved being around his friends on any occasion and especially enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR and Alabama football 

Preceded in death by his father, Dan is survived by his wife, Debi; his mother, Arlene Etter; mother-in-law Geraldine Bozeman; brothers Dennis and David Etter; sons Robby Walker (Rochieda) and Jason Walker (Melinda); grandchildren Brantley Walker, Steffan Walker (Ali), Colby Walker, Lauren Walker, Christian Walker, Trenton Walker, Anna Grace Walker, Olivia Walker, Lillian Walker, and Madeline Walker; and seven great-grandchildren.
