Sonatrach Fills Algerian GR7 Gas Pipeline

HOUSTON (P&GJ) — Algerian oil and gas company SONATRACH has successfully filled its GR7 gas pipeline.

The 210-mile 48” pipeline is an expansion of the company’s existing STC GR5 pipeline.

This expansion brings an additional 4 billion cubic meters per year of capacity raising the capacity of the entire system to 13 billion cubic meters per year.

The GR7 pipeline allows the system to collect gas from the Hassi Mouina North and South and Hassi Ba Hamou gas fields and transport them to the National Gas Dispatching Center at Hassi R’mel.

Construction, pipe manufacturing and control and monitoring of the manufacturing process were all completed by Algerian companies.
