Golar's FLNG Gimi Completes First LNG Offload to British Sponsor

Golar LNG's FLNG Gimi completed its first LNG offload to the British Sponsor, introducing Mauritania and Senegal to the global gas market and triggering a milestone bonus ahead of expected commercial operations in Q2 2025.

(P&GJ) — The FLNG Gimi has completed its first full LNG offload to the British Sponsor, marking a major milestone for Mauritania and Senegal as they enter the international gas market.

The offload triggers the final pre-Commercial Operations Date (COD) milestone bonus payment to Golar, under the terms of a commercial reset agreement signed in August 2024.

Golar said commissioning remains on track for a Q2 2025 COD. Once achieved, it will activate a 20-year lease and operate agreement, unlocking approximately $3 billion of adjusted EBITDA backlog attributable to Golar. COD will also initiate the recognition of contractual payments across Golar’s balance sheet and income statement.
