North Dakota Sees Major Oil Production Drop Due to Frigid Temps

(Reuters) — The North Dakota Pipeline Authority said oil production was estimated to be down between 120,000 and 150,000 barrels of oil per day, as of Tuesday morning, due to the recent extreme cold and related operations challenges.
North Dakota is the third-largest oil-producing state in the United States.
Associated wellhead natural gas production was also estimated to be down 0.34 to 0.42 billion cubic feet per day, Justin Kringstad, the director of the North Dakota Pipeline Authority, said in an emailed statement.
"The last two days have been quite cold, but warmer weather is returning this weekend," he added.
