Atlas Copco Compressors Inaugurates Houston Facility

Atlas Copco Compressors Product Company has dedicated a new 96,000 square foot facility in Houston, housing customer relations for North and South America as well as producing a wide range of air compressors, dryers and skid packages. The new building brings together 150 employees from several Atlas Copco subsidiaries under one roof to create its largest office in the United States.

“Addressing our customers’ needs is our primary focus, and having all of our services, from start to finish, consolidated at one facility, where we can streamline the process with even greater efficiency, will only enhance the service our customers have come to expect,” said Dave Prator, vice president southern region, Atlas Copco Compressors.

A dedication ceremony took place at the facility on May 4, attended by presidents of the business units represented in the manufacturing facility as well as local officials and the building’s staff, 55 of whom are new to the Houston area.

Atlas Copco expects to fill a minimum of 15 additional positions at the facility, and hopes to expand operations at the facility as capacity increases.

This 96,000 square-foot facility is a competency center for Engineered Products and is home to four unique Business Units: Atlas Copco Systems Houston, which produces a wide range of standard and customized compressor skid packages; Greenfield Compression, which produces high-pressure compressor packages along with Natural Gas Vehicle dispensers; and the production site for a wide range of standard and customized air dyers and air treatment products.

In addition to housing production facilities, the building is home to the Southern Region Customer Center, which is dedicated to providing support to customers throughout the region.
