Darby Family Continues to Grow
Pipeline contractors now have an alternative source for reliable pipeline coating. Darby Equipment Company has teamed with Dennis Roberson, an established leader in the field-coating industry, to form Pipeline Coating Services (PCS).
The new company will be a division of Darby with its own branding and will provide pipeline contractors with newly engineered coating equipment designed for optimum ease of use and consistent results when applying high-quality fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) to all sizes of steel pipe joints.
With a career in the industry spanning 16 years, Roberson noted, “I’m excited and proud to join the Darby family. Their reputation for providing quality equipment and service to the pipeline construction industry is well-known worldwide and this is the level of quality I want to be associated with.”
Joining PCS as vice president of sales is Ferrell Lake. In addition to his role as sales representative for the southern region for Darby Equipment, Lake will join Roberson in bringing his 50 years of experience to the new company. He said he is convinced the equipment and service PCS will offer the industry is in high demand.
“The level of overall quality we will be providing will be unmatched in the industry. We designed the pipeline coating equipment with our customer’s needs in mind. Our commitment to service will be the same as it has always been with Darby – prompt and reliable.”
All PCS user-friendly equipment will offer the ability to consistently apply factory-quality coating in a field setting and this is now available for rent throughout North America.
Operators can apply single-layer coatings and also apply the abrasive resistance over-coating where dual coatings are necessary in rocky terrain or in the case of directional drills. Various coating widths are available for use with a 150-KW generator to accomplish the best possible coating in a timely manner.
In addition to its user-friendly features, the equipment provides safety features like operator-control E-stops for immediate operational stoppage. Equipment generators are supplied with a 75-gallon auxiliary tank. All PCS equipment is backed up by Darby Equipment’s commitment to prompt reliable service.
