Subsea training and trials facility The Underwater Centre, located in the Scottish Highlands, has secured funding from industry and public bodies and will begin operating as a not-for-profit company. The restructuring will ensure the industry continues to have access to critical, world-leading underwater training and can undertake vital subsea equipment trials.

“The center is of crucial importance to the North Sea industry as one of only two centers in Europe that provide closed bell diver training – a skill set which is vital to the North Sea sector,” said David McGhie, managing director of The Underwater Centre.

The facility is based on the shore of Loch Linnhe and sheltered by the surrounding mountains. The location allows year-round training and testing in an open-water environment, while still being centrally located in Fort William, the largest town in the Scottish Highlands. Senior representatives of Subsea 7, TechnipFMC and Premier Oil will join the board of the Underwater Centre’s Board of Directors.

Sanchez Midstream Partners executed a series of agreements with Targa Resources prior to merging their respective 50% interests in the entities that own the high-pressure Carnero Gathering Line and Raptor Gas Processing Facility to form an expanded joint venture in South Texas – the Carnero JV.

BG Engineering, a subcontractor for precision machined components, acquired Pentag Gears and Oilfield Equipment Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of gearing. Sheffield, U.K.-based Pentag will relocate to BG Engineering’s premises in Holmewood, Chesterfield. Pentag Directors Martin Wragg, Andrew Larkin and its four other staff members will transfer to that location.

Weiler Abrasives campaign for Workshops for Warriors

Weiler Abrasives Group, a provider of power brushes and maintenance products for surface conditioning, launched a national fundraising campaign on behalf of Workshops for Warriors.  The nonprofit school trains, certifies and helps place veterans, wounded warriors and transitioning service members into advanced manufacturing careers. Weiler donated $25,000 to kick off the year-long campaign that will support machining and welding training programs at Workshops for Warriors, as well as contribute to long-term growth of the organization.

BCCK Holding Company entered into an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Discovery DJ Services for delivery of a 225 MMscf/d gas plant in Weld County, Colo. The new plant will take Discovery’s processing capacity to 500 MMcf/d in the first half of 2019.

Tenaris plans to restart select areas of its mill in Conroe, Texas, following a three-year suspension of operations. The mill will support Tenaris’ ramp up of activity in the U.S., with the heat treatment and finishing of pipe products. The project is expected to take place in September.

Permian Express Partners will begin soliciting  for intrastate service on up to 50,000 bpd of volume commitments on Phase 1 of Permian Express 3. This capacity represents the remaining availablity on the 140,000 bpd Phase 1 of Permian Express 3. This remaining capacity is expected to come online in the fourth quarter.

Krohne opened its flow and level instrument manufacturing and calibration facility in Beverly, Mass. The new facility will produce new and existing flow and level products, while continuing to serve as the main distribution hub to North American markets for all other products. Administration, sales, service and marketing, along with a new training center, will also be located in Beverly.

Chaparral Energy expanded its Board of Directors from seven to eight members and appointed David Geenberg as a new independent member of the board. Chaparral’s board, with the addition of Geenberg, now includes eight members.

Explorer Pipeline completed a phase of projects to provide additional capacity on its 10-inch system from the Houston area to the Arlington, Texas, area by adding a minimum of 10,000 bpd of additional capacity to this system. This capacity is currently available to existing and walk-up shippers. Explorer focused several recent projects on demand for refined products in the Central and North Texas corridors.

Alliance Pipeline said its request for binding commitments an open season, which ended May 30, did not reach the target of 400 MMcf/d. Alliance is assessing potential alternatives and next steps. Alliance receives natural gas in British Columbia, Alberta and North Dakota, and carries it to the Chicago market, delivering 1.6 Bcf/d of natural gas. The company would have increased capacity by 25% through the addition of compression and other facilities.

U.K.-based drilling services provider TWMA acquired U.S.-based Dynamic Oilfield Services. Dynamic Oilfield Services deploys its solids control and surface equipment divisions in some of the most prolific onshore basins in the United States.

Range Resources Corporation and SailingStone Capital Partners, owner of 17% of Range’s shares outstanding, jointly announced an agreement for Range to appoint two mutually agreed upon independent directors to its Board of Directors. Once identified and approved by the Board and SailingStone, the new directors will be appointed to the Board immediately.

The EnLink Midstream companies announced that affiliates of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an independent infrastructure fund manager, completed the previously announced acquisition of all of Devon Energy Corporation’s interests in manager EnLink Midstream Manager, LLC, ENLC and ENLK for total cash consideration of $3.13 billion.
