Andy Ball, Doug Evans, Criss Shipman and Fatih Can at IPLOCA’s conference.

IPLOCA honored Gulf Interstate Engineering (GIE) the Excellence in Project Execution Award during the association’s recent annual conference in London. The honor recognized the numerous obstacles overcome during completion of the 515-mile Sabal Trail Transmission project in U.S. states of Florida and Alabama. Among those hurdles: the geographic complexity of the region, the environmental sensitivity of the route and numerous workspace constraints along the route.

The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) added Jennifer Pett as manager of public affairs and communications. She will be primarily responsible for media relations and digital media communications.

The National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) selected Timothy D. Unruh as its next executive director beginning Jan. 1. Most recently, he served in two senior roles at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Prior to that, Unruh spent many years working for Con Edison and Custom Energy.

Straquadine

The INGAA Foundation chose industry veteran Tony Straquadine as its executive director. Straquadine, who has been an INGAA Foundation board member since 2015, has over 35 years of oil and gas pipeline industry experience. Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked with Alliance Pipeline, most recently as managing U.S. 0fficer for Commercial & Government Affairs.

The Ontario Energy Association (OEA) hired Rob Coulbeck as its special advisor on markets. Coulbeck will lead the OEA’s participation in the IESO power system market renewal initiative. He will also be working with the OEA Board to develop policy positions, priorities and advocacy strategies.

The ALLU Group, and East Brunswick, N.J.-based provider of tools for pipeline padding and backfilling applications, joined the Distribution Contractors Association (DCA). Based near Dallas, Texas, the DCA facilitates the exchange of information related to the construction and maintenance of gas distribution pipeline systems throughout the United States.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and SAE International established awarded the SAE International/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award to Volvo Construction Equipment design engineer Stephen Lanahan. P&GJ
