Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards® Closes Record-Breaking Nomination Cycle for 2026

The Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards® received a record-breaking 500-plus nominations from more than 123 companies worldwide for 2026, with Aramco confirmed as Platinum Partner ahead of the October awards gala in Houston.

The Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards® has closed its 2026 call for nominations after receiving more than 500 submissions from over 123 companies and organizations worldwide, marking the largest nomination cycle in the program's history.

The record-setting total reflects participation from every segment of the global energy industry—including upstream, midstream and downstream—and companies ranging from national oil companies and independent operators to oilfield service providers, technology companies and engineering firms.

Aramco has also confirmed its participation as the program's Platinum Partner for 2026, while submitting one of the largest nomination totals in the Awards' history.

Global participation reaches new high

The breadth of participation this year reflects the international reach the program has built since its founding. Entries arrived from across the Middle East, India, Latin America, China, Europe and North America. That geographic spread reinforces the Awards’ position as a truly global recognition program, one that is not defined by region, sector or company size.

Aramco ranked among the top submitters in the program’s history and confirmed as Platinum Partner for 2026. Its commitment at the highest partnership level, combined with its volume of entries, positions the company as the only organization this year investing in the program at every level simultaneously. It is a clear signal of the strategic value Aramco places on this platform.

Kuwait Oil Company, across its divisions, submitted the largest number of nominations among all companies participating. This reflects a substantial commitment from one of the region’s most significant national oil companies and one of the highest levels of participation by any single organization in the program’s history.

Reliance Industries Limited submitted several dozen entries, continuing its position as one of the program’s most active participants and building on its strong showing at the 2025 gala, where the company received multiple awards, including Best Controls, Instrumentation, and Automation Technology (Downstream), Best Digital Transformation (Downstream), Best Health, Safety or Environmental Contribution (Downstream), and Energy Project of the Year (Upstream).

The ADNOC Group, combining submissions from ADNOC Offshore, ADNOC Gas and ADNOC Drilling, collectively submitted the second-highest number of nominations, reflecting a substantial commitment from one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies.

Among global oilfield services and technology companies, Halliburton submitted 21 nominations, CNPC and PetroChina submitted 19, and SLB submitted 15. Lummus Technology, Expro, NOV, Baker Hughes, Surtigas, Promigas, KBC (A Yokogawa Company) and Topsoe were also among the program’s most active participants this year.

Industry recognition continues to grow

According to Gulf Energy Information, the record submission total reflects the industry's continued emphasis on independent recognition of innovation, operational excellence and project achievement.

The Excellence Awards are evaluated through a two-stage judging process conducted by independent editorial advisors and industry experts. There is no fee to enter and no limit on the number of eligible submissions.

"We are incredibly proud of this milestone," said John Royall, president and CEO of Gulf Energy Information. "The response from the global energy community this year is a reflection of what this program represents: a genuine opportunity for the industry to recognize the work that is driving it forward. We look forward to celebrating the finalists and winners at the gala in October."

Finalists to be announced in July

Judging is now underway, with finalists scheduled to be announced during the week of July 28.

Winners will be recognized at the 2026 Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards Gala on Oct. 15 at The Post Oak Hotel in Houston. The black-tie event will bring together executives from across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors to celebrate achievements in technology, operations, safety, sustainability and project execution.

Partnership opportunities remain available

The organizations behind those 500 submissions will send their teams, clients and leadership to The Post Oak Hotel on October 15 to see the results. That gathering will be one of the most commercially relevant events on the energy industry calendar this year. It is a concentrated, reputation-driven audience that is difficult to access through other channels.

Partnering with the Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards® places your brand in front of that audience across multiple touchpoints: program communications beginning now, the finalist announcement in late July, and the gala itself in October. It also delivers media amplification through Gulf Energy Information’s publications, newsletters and digital channels, reaching a global readership of energy industry professionals who trust the platform’s editorial authority. Partnership packages are fully customizable to organizational objectives and budget.
