143-Mile Guardian Pipeline Expansion/Extension Completed

ONEOK Partners, L.P. has completed the Guardian Pipeline expansion and extension project.

The pipeline, meter stations and associated compressor stations are fully in service, extending the existing 143-mile Guardian natural gas pipeline system that originates near Channahon, IL and ends at Ixonia, WI by 119 miles and adding 537,200 Dth/d of capacity.

The Guardian Pipeline extension was placed into partial service in December and the first of two compressor stations became fully operational on Feb. 10. The commissioning of the second compressor station on Feb. 25 brings the project to full-design capacity.

Work on restoration of the pipeline right-of-way and some above-ground facilities will be completed when weather permits. Final project costs previously provided ranged from $277-305 million.

The new pipeline will transport natural gas from the existing Guardian Pipeline at Ixonia, WI in northeastern Jefferson County, to northern Outagamie County near Green Bay, WI.
