Open Season Launched for Plantation Pipeline Expansion
Kinder Morgan today started an binding open season to solicit commitments for the Roanoke Expansion project on the Plantation Pipe Line System.
The expansion, primarily consisting of additional pump capacity and operational storage, will add 21,000 bpd of incremental refined petroleum products capacity on the Plantation system from Baton Rouge, La., and Collins, Miss., to the Roanoke, Va., area.
Pending a successful open season and the receipt of regulatory approvals, Kinder Morgan said the project will be in service by April 1, 2020.
Plantation Pipe Line is one of the largest refined petroleum products pipelines in the United States, delivering approximately 700,000 bpd of gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and biodiesel through its approximately 3,180-mile pipeline network. It connects to 90 shipper delivery terminals and receives product come from nine refineries in Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as from other pipeline systems and marine facilities on the Mississippi River.
