Naturgy Awarded LNG Cargo Supply for Argentina’s Escobar FSRU

Argentina has awarded Naturgy a contract to supply an LNG cargo to its Escobar FSRU, helping ensure gas supply during peak winter demand.

(P&GJ) — Argentina has awarded Naturgy Aprovisionamientos S.A. a contract to supply a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to the Escobar floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), as the country prepares for seasonal demand increases.

The cargo was awarded following an international tender process conducted by Energía Argentina, with six companies submitting bids.

The shipment is expected to arrive in the second week of May and will be used to replenish LNG inventories at the Escobar terminal.

Officials said the additional supply is intended to support gas injections into the national system during periods of higher residential demand, particularly during colder weather, and to provide backup in case of disruptions to pipeline transport.

Energía Argentina said it invited 39 prequalified companies to participate in the tender, with the procurement process conducted under ISO 9001-certified procedures and subject to internal and external oversight.
