INGAA Commends House Leaders for Advancing Pipeline Safety Bill
(P&GJ) — Amy Andryszak, president and CEO of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), expressed appreciation for the progress made by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy & Commerce in moving forward with the Pipeline Safety, Modernization, and Expansion Act of 2024.
The bill, championed by Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Subcommittee Chair Jeff Duncan, includes several provisions aligned with INGAA's priorities for the reauthorization of the Office of Pipeline Safety within the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).

Key highlights of the proposed legislation involve finalizing the Class Location Rule, increasing Gas Pipeline Advisory Committee meetings, and establishing a working group to address regulatory issues related to Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure testing records.
With the advancement of proposals by the House Committees on Energy & Commerce and Transportation & Infrastructure, INGAA urges the U.S. House of Representatives to consolidate these efforts in a bipartisan manner. The goal is to swiftly approve a final pipeline safety reauthorization bill that prioritizes safety and addresses critical needs within the nation's pipeline system.
