Welspun Tubular to Invest $150 Million in Arkansas Pipe Mill, Coating Facility
Welspun Tubular will invest $150 million in a new pipe mill and coating facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, creating 300 jobs and boosting U.S. pipeline infrastructure for oil, gas, LNG, hydrogen and carbon capture projects.
(P&GJ) — Welspun Tubular LLC will invest $150 million to build a new longitudinally submerged arc welded (LSAW) line pipe mill and coating facility at its site in Little Rock, Arkansas, the company announced Aug. 11. The expansion is expected to create 300 jobs and strengthen domestic supply of large-diameter line pipe for energy and infrastructure projects.
“This investment is not only creating new jobs—it is a commitment to the Make in America vision by strengthening domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports,” said B.K. Goenka, chairman of Welspun World. “With this expansion, Welspun will be the only facility in the United States capable of manufacturing line pipes ranging from 6 inches to 56 inches.”
The new facility will allow Welspun to supply pipe for oil and gas, LNG export, hydrogen and carbon capture projects. Welspun partnered with state officials to announce the expansion, which marks its second major project in Arkansas in two years. In 2024, the company committed $100 million to expand its high frequency induction welded (HFIW) pipe mill, a project slated for completion in 2026.
Welspun has operated in Little Rock since 2007, investing more than $400 million in its manufacturing presence at the Port of Little Rock. Company leaders said the new project highlights Arkansas’ business climate and Welspun’s long-term role in U.S. energy infrastructure.
